Job Description

ICOMAT is a young company with a game changing technology and critically people with the imagination and drive to grow a business that will enable manufacturers in the aeronautics, automotive and space sectors to significantly reduce the weight and improve the efficiency of their products.

Using private and public investment iCOMAT has commercialised a patented invention from the world-renowned Institute of Advanced Composites at the University of Bristol. Founded in 2019 and with a dedicated facility in the south of Bristol, iCOMAT has expanded to 25 staff and developed its technology in to a product capable of successful demonstrations in conjunction with, amongst others, the European Space Agency, Airbus, Jaguar- Land Rover and BAE Systems. iCOMAT has received and been nominated for a number of prestigious international awards for its technology.

ICOMAT is on the verge of a significant scale-up with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next 2-3 years and expand operations in to Europe and the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end HR processes. They will help us to find, develop, integrate and retain great talent, enabling the company to grow quickly, effectively and efficiently. They will play a pivotal role in defining and advocating the culture of the company, supporting the leadership team and the business to achieve its maximum potential and have a positive impact for all our stakeholders.

Our expectations of candidates are that they will have 4+ years’ experience in a technology or industrial business, some familiarity with the challenges of a growing business and the ambition to architect and lead all HR related activities of the business.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the leadership team to define and implement the overall HR strategy of the organization including talent acquisition and recruitment, performance management, compensation amp; rewards, employee relations, learning and development
  • Devise and directly implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants that can scale as the company grows
  • Establish systems and processes that promote collaboration, performance, ownership, and accountability and create policies amp; guides to document best practices that promote iCOMAT’s culture
  • Create a strong brand for potential and existing employees, ensuring that our teams consist of a diverse and inclusive set of qualified individuals, with a long-term talent strategy in mind
  • Bridge management and employee relations including hearing and resolving employee demands, training managers to coach and discipline employees, and conduct performance appraisal systems
  • Be the champion of the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth process by providing clarity on their role in iCOMATs overall vision
  • Ensure legal compliance with employment regulations and data processing requirements

Qualifications, Experience, and skills

  • BSc in HRM or equivalent practical experience with proof of HR related qualifications; MSc or MBA is a plus
  • 4+ years of experience in People Operations or HR generalist role, including payroll tools
  • Strong competency interviewing and selection skills
  • Good knowledge of UK labour legislation
  • Experience of international recruitment (eg USA) would be advantageous
