A newly created position has arisen for a Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Insight team.

In this role you will work hand in hand with our commercial teams providing actionable sales and market insights, providing accurate intelligence which will aid growth in advertising revenues for the business.

You will be process driven with excellent business acumen and be able to analyse large amounts of data, accurately project sales trends and help us to identify sales opportunities and efficiencies. With a real focus on delivering to a high standard you will be a self-motivated individual with an agile, energetic approach and able to take ownership of all projects assigned.

This is a hybrid flexible role offering a blend of home and office working. We are flexible about your home location providing you are willing to travel to one of our local offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow or London occasionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and analysing competitive activity market and customer trends
  • Liaising with commercial teams to contribute analytics, intelligence and design on Channel Sales reports and decks and to ensure compliance with the sales process
  • Provide analytics on ad-hoc projects that are business critical.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the standardisation, integration and management of new datasets and data coming into and from our CRM platforms
  • Manage future data enhancements e.g., new segmentation approaches, propensity modelling and targeting, appending new data sets
  • Work with sales and commercial operations to understand data needs and identify opportunities for analysis and future data enhancements
  • Assist with the development of optimised data quality KPIs and reporting frameworks
  • Identify and drive delivery of data quality improvements and how we use our data across our platforms.
  • To handle all data requests and support incoming briefs ensuring timely, accurate delivery of information and offering good level of insight for clients but also to generate internal impact.
  • Identify opportunities to grow category and audiences and provide supporting sight to inspire customers, agencies and sales teams
  • Provide broad market, category and brand advertising reports
  • Proactively provide interesting insights to unlock curiosity in the advertising team
  • To manage stakeholder relationships in a proactive and positive manner
  • To undertake continuous personal development and keep up-to-date with research, industry and advertising innovations.

Requirements

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience

You'll be driven, innovative and eager to learn with the ability to translate data into commercial sense. To be successful in this role you will have:

Essential:

  • Experience working with CRM and customer databases
  • Experience in aggregating different datasets to complete comprehensive reporting and analysis, providing accurate and insightful data reports
  • The ability to communicate effectively with an array of people, adjusting communication with level of analytical/data literacy understanding.
  • Experienced user of Power BI
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Proven track record of being organised, efficient and methodical in approach

Desirable:

  • Data science or similar degree
  • Understanding of segmentation propensity modelling and targeting approaches
  • Salesforce certification
  • SQL experience
  • The ability to build and sustain relationships with stakeholders
  • Self-driven and highly motivated
  • Exceptional communication skills and writing skills
