PURPOSE OF ROLE:

A key analytical Treasury role within the wider Finance function. As a business with significant levels of Client cash to manage safely and securely, Treasury support the business by placing deposits with high quality counterparties and managing the associated risks as well as managing the risks of ensuring sufficient liquidity for the business to meet client and corporate requirements. Treasury is also responsible for maximizing interest yields on the deposits placed within authorized limits and for managing and reporting on market risks and yields. This role will support Treasury and the wider business principally with development of new and improved tools and analysis around its key risks and controls. The role also includes practical Front Office responsibilities which provide experience in dealing with brokers and banks as well as giving the postholder direct exposure to and knowledge of money markets which can support a deeper understanding of any analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and present treasury reports and other financial data as required
• Responsible for collating, analysing and interpreting financial data and reporting outputs in easy to understand and informative formats.
• Developing the tools to monitor and report on treasury interest analysing and modelling yields on the deposit portfolio as a result of market movements / portfolio composition and evaluating interest mismatch risks arising on interest receivables and interest payables.
• Generate treasury forecasts, input assumptions and derive scenarios to provide forecasts including interest yields.
• Use analytical skills to provide recommendations which mitigate risk to the Firm
• Regularly perform the daily cash management process and Money Market dealing to manage risk and maximise interest receivable within authorised limits, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Work with other Finance colleagues to develop and improve forecasting of cashflows and analyse monthly headroom to risk and regulatory limits
• Work alongside the wider finance team providing financial data to support the implementation of effective strategies to drive profitability
• Support and develop ongoing improvements to regular Management Information and CASS regulatory requirements to strengthen, streamline and improve efficiency to its production
• Work with Treasury team on implementation of Treasury Management System including understanding how the inputs and outputs can enhance the reporting above
• Provide support to Finance and business wide initiatives and objectives as required
• Keep up to date with all required regulatory regulations and assist with any changes impacting Treasury
• Maintain the first line of Risk/Compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance
• Maintain the first line of defence by supporting the risks and controls assigned to the department

Requirements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Part-qualified (or fully qualified) in a relevant financial qualification or qualified through experience. Treasury experience preferred but not essential however the role requires an understanding of interest rate risks and cashflow reporting within the context of overall financial management and reporting
• Excellent / advanced financial modelling skills Microsoft Excel
