We are continually investing in our people, processes, and plants to ensure we push the boundaries within our sector and, as a result, we have an opportunity for a new Operations Manager to join our team at Mells!

The mission, should you accept it .
You will support and co-lead all site operational activities, compliance, SHEQ and continuous improvement whilst developing a performance-driven culture with an emphasis on ownership, accountability, transparency and development of the facility and its people. You’ll need to engage the ‘hearts and minds’ of the company’s employees to create and sustain a pro-active culture in all disciplines across the business.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role in a medium/large automated manufacturing operation with relevant safety systems, quality standards and housekeeping standards
  • Experience of budget control and managing capital programmes
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of leading and delivering change within a unionised environment
  • Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) would be a real advantage
  • Able to demonstrate the use of data / analytical skills
  • Experience of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing techniques e.g. DMAIC would be an advantage
  • IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH General Certificate desirable
