Due to our exciting, ongoing growth within the IT amp; Telecoms Sector, we are currently recruiting for an ambitious IT Project Engineer you will act as the technical lead working side-by-side with the PMO team in the delivery of Microsoft projects, whether they be internal projects or external client orders. This is a technical team, and it is essential to maintain up-to-date skills for the nominated products to deliver projects effectively.

WHAT? This Role

As an individual you will need to have a high level of personal motivation, a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment and be an effective communicator.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Project Technical Validation amp; Risk Assess projects/solutions
  • Project Documentation amp; daily paperwork
  • Project Incident Logging
  • Installation and configuration of both hardware and software applications at the customer premises and remotely where applicable
  • Effective liaison with customers and 3rd parties involved
  • Fault diagnosis and resolution
  • Remote programming for additional works and system related changes
  • End user training for products installed
  • Uphold the company ethos of ensuring continual improvement is always at the heart of dealing with any issues or complaints
  • Proven experience in leading IT projects technically, without the need of assistance/intervention from other engineers.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Microsoft project delivery, including product related qualifications for installations and ongoing support of Microsoft solutions.
  • Proven experience of liaising with customers and 3rd parties, with the ability to demonstrate focused customer care skills, both on site and remotely. Clear direction setting and methodical work ethic.
  • Experience of incident management - owning technical escalations, working closely with the manufacturers to successful resolution.
  • Experience in populating project documentation i.e. LLD, Resiliency Documentation and Task Plans for example.
  • Conducting audits of existing customer environments and producing necessary reports/documentation
  • The ability to be able to understand and adequately support less experienced peers when there is the need to, with the addition of being able to mentor and motivate junior staff.
  • Maintains consistent service and delivery standards for clients.
  • Passion for achieving measurable high standards.

  • VPN configuration
  • PowerShell
  • File, Print, IIS and general server technology experience
  • Security applications; server and client
  • Email Security
  • Storage and Backup recovery
  • DNS; external and internal
  • LAN/WAN technology awareness
  • DHCP

You must also possess a thorough fault process mentality to accurately evaluate calls. Self-reliance on technical abilities and knowledge.

Beneficial experience in:

  • CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+ or equivalent qualification
  • Network monitoring tools - SNMP,Solarwinds etc.
  • SQL
  • Mimecast
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure
  • Cisco Meraki LAN, WLAN, Security deployment and support
  • SDWAN experience
  • Understanding of networking concepts: VLANS, QoS, Spanning tree, trunking
  • Microsoft Teams; Microsoft Business Voice / Direct Routing
  • UC / Telephony experience
