Job Description
Pixelynx is a new music and gaming venture that has been launched by deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin. We are building a music metaverse that makes it easy for any artist, label or events to launch their own interactive experiences and monetise them through Digital Collectables (NFTs)
We are looking for an AI Concept Character Artist to join us in bringing the world of the music metaverse to life. Working closely with the creative team and Art Director, you will be utilising AI technology such as Midjourney to deliver AI generated characters and creatures who inhabit the world we are building. Working to enhance and streamline prompts, you’ll be responsible for enabling the generation of this AI art and you will also be critical to refining this art. Using your skillset, you’ll be responsible for cleaning up the art and making it ready for use.
This role is fully remote and will initially be a contracting opportunity only #LI-Remote
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the creative team to master the visual style of our world
- Utilise prompts to create AI art across multiple software platforms, including Midjourney, Dall-E and Stable Diffusion
- Understand the world building of our game and the environments within
- Oversee and take ownership of design projects
- Working with people across multiple disciplines including production, narrative and design
- Work with the Art Director to refine the direction of our AI generated art
- Attend creative brainstorms, team meetings and contribute ideas
- Deliver clean up of AI generated art to be utilised by the team
Requirements
- 3+ years creative experience as a Concept and/or Character Artist, AAA video game experience is preferred
- Hands-on experience with AI generated art, experience with Midjourney, Dall-E and/or Stable Diffusion is preferred
- A strong understanding of prompts utilised with AI art generation and the ability to utilise, refine and focus your direction to the AI software
- Strong drawing and conceptualisation skills with the ability to tidy up digital art created by AI
- Embrace challenges and new methods of thinking
- You have experience with real-time 3D packages such as Unreal
- Understanding of human anatomy and posing characters, conceptualising characters in awesome action poses as well as character rotations
- You have strong experience with Photoshop
- Experience with Maya/Max, Z-Brush and Blender is preferred but not essential
- Ability to collaborate with multiple teams in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
- An interest and understanding of Web3 and the future of the metaverse is highly preferred
- A strong portfolio of illustrating your skills utilising AI art and as a Concept Artist
- You are passionate about what you do and about working on awesome projects that you can be proud of
