As part of the OPEN Health Patient Centered Outcomes (PCO) team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:

  • Lead and deliver team projects, with a primary focus on strategy and scientific rigor
  • Design, execute and communicate projects that delight clients and deepen the relationship
  • Partner with clients to provide strategic advice and thought leadership in advancing evidence-based decision-making
  • Mentor and foster professional development of junior staff
  • Lead by example as well as being able to pivot to hands-on
  • Generate and deliver high-level clinical outcome assessment (COA)/PRO evidence to regulators and/or payers
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships and offerings with current clients as well as creating new opportunities
  • Proactively uncover new business development opportunities and respond to proposals to broaden our PCO offerings and win work

You will be involved in projects including preference research, patient experience surveys, gathering real-world PRO data, and getting the most out of PRO data gathered in clinical trials for HTA purposes. These projects are conducted for our clients who are primarily pharmaceutical companies. Your work contributes to our clients’ understanding of which characteristics play a key role in patients desiring, adopting, or adhering to a new treatment. Your work will also contribute to understanding clinical trial outcomes and providing utilities for health economic modelling.

What you’ll bring:

  • An MSc or PhD in relevant science, for example in Public Health, Health economics, Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, Biostatistics, Psychometrics, or quantitative Psychology/Epidemiology
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to prepare and present relevant summaries of complex materials, as well as teaching others to reach this level
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods for preference elicitation, such as discrete choice experiments (DCEs), best-worst-scaling (BWS), and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA)
  • Experience with survey design, quantitative methods for survey analysis, clinical trial analyses e.g., linear mixed models, missing data techniques for analyzing patient-reported outcomes (PROs) as well as health care resource use data
  • Experience with creating efficient designs, using software such as Ngene
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: R, SAS, Stata or a similar package
  • A demonstrated track record in the field of Patient-Centered Outcomes
  • Experience in patient-focused research setting in a leading role
  • Knowledge of the healthcare regulatory processes and HTA/payer systems
  • 8+ years of experience in a consulting, academic, or agency setting
  • A strong track record of managing client relationships and leading multidisciplinary project teams
  • A proven track record in identifying new business opportunities, winning work and exceeding sales targets
