Job Purpose and Scope:

Accordingly, we are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager on a permanent basis in the Managed Services Practice.

The Senior Delivery/Project Manager will own and manage the delivery of client-focused, transformational projects. They will maintain the relationship between the client and the delivery team; working with the team to plan, manage, and deliver user-centred outcomes.

The Senior Delivery/Project Manager will track and communicate project status, serves as an escalation point to resolve obstacles, and work to deliver within scope, on schedule and budget. They will be able to adapt their delivery approach in line with client needs, adopting the appropriate delivery methodology be it agile, waterfall or hybrid.

They will confidently manage clients, collaborating with them to achieve value and benefits.

This role would suit applications with a passion for delivering user-centered technology projects in the public sector and managing high-performing teams. It would be ideal for applicants who are experienced project managers in the technology sector or with a solid software delivery management background.


Requirements

Responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for the client with the wider team, needing to be credible and influential in liaising with clients
  • Facilitating transformation and demonstrating the ability to adopt agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery practices
  • Providing direction and oversight to multi-disciplinary teams, helping them plan their work, remove blockers and progress
  • Planning and defining project scope, establishing measurable goals and tangible milestones
  • Establishing and maintaining project timelines, project plans and completing projects on schedule
  • Managing risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities
  • Taking ownership of senior level issues or escalation, identifying paths to resolution
  • Actively managing project status and communications ensuring transparency to project stakeholders and team
  • The ability to create a welcoming, safe and inclusive team environment


Skills:

Essential

  • At least 5+ years’ experience working as a Project Manager within an agile or waterfall environment
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an inherent ability to multi-task
  • Experience of working within rapid paced, dynamic technology environments
  • Technical proficiency and awareness, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple way
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with sound business judgement
  • Excellent client facing and engagement management skills
  • Ability to rapidly identify and resolve issues
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Budget and resource management experience
  • Proven experience working with Public Sector clients
  • Applied knowledge of Project/Delivery Management methodologies i.e. Agile, Waterfall
  • Must be eligible for Security Clearance

Desirable

  • Experience working in the justice sector
  • Experience of managing complex software migration projects
  • Experience working on Data Architecture projects
  • Business Analysis or Product Management background or expertise
  • Certifications:
    • SCRUM Master
    • ITIL (or another process best practice such as Six Sigma or COBIT)
    • Agile Foundation or Practitioner
    • PMP, Prince II or APM Qualified
  • Understanding of Service Management best practice ITIL
