Location: United Kingdom (fully remote)

Working hours: 35 hours per week

We have a new opportunity for a full time Finance Director based in the United Kingdom. In this role, you'd be responsible for the efforts, results, and success of the agency's finance department.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Finance Director/Head of Finance/Group Controller with a background in the creative industry and passion for social media. You must feel comfortable working on all levels and explaining the stories around finance.

As we are an SME business, this role will be hands-on with changing priorities but it’s an excellent opportunity to be part of a flexible, remote and inclusive culture.


The Opportunity

In this role, you will be key in providing financial advice and support to help the Executive Team make key business decisions and drive the agency forward.

This is a fully remote and permanent role and the ideal candidate can be located anywhere in the United Kingdom. As we are a remote workforce, working across multiple territories, we are flexible with starting/ending working hours.

What you'll do

In your day to day job, you'll keep a close watch on company amp; client performance, profitability, staff utilisation and departmental expenditure. You’ll monitor progress against budget and provide regular forecast updates. You'll create, review and share detailed financial reports and make recommendations to senior leadership, internal teams and clients

Financial operations, performance monitoring amp; reporting

  • Compilation of monthly reporting pack including KPI reporting around profitability utilisation, regional amp; departmental performance and balance sheet reporting
  • Creating and reviewing financial reports and making recommendations
  • Working alongside members of the Director team to determine an overall direction for the company

Budgeting and planning

  • Tracking of revenue for current clients and new opportunities
  • Oversee and review departmental budgets and expenditure
  • Oversee company-wide budgetary planning process and provide regular re-forecast throughout the year
  • Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist the Exec Team creating strategic plans for the longer term

Commercial

  • Assisting with Client contract negotiations
  • Deep dives into client and operational performance

Leadership amp; engagement

  • Supervise the in-house staff members and outsourced finance team in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing amp; revenue recognition, payroll, holiday cover etc.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key members of each team within the company
  • Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants
  • Ensures finance system is kept up to date to ensure the most accurate financial reporting

Compliance amp; risk management

  • Quarterly VAT reporting
  • Statutory reporting
  • Ensure that all of the company’s financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
  • Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date
  • Develop tax and financial strategies
  • Produce reports that deal with potential risks and solutions as well as the company's overall financial state and presents those reports to the Exec Team
  • Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk
  • Update and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Maintain a policy manual for the finance department and adopt a process of continual improvement
  • Ensures the company remains in line with local country, state, and federal tax regulations
