Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Engineering who has a passion for people management and excellent software delivery practices to lead our small but awesome Engineering function. This is amazing opportunity to join QC, a dynamic fast moving performance marketing company. We combine performance marketing services with our unique data rebuilding software, to help clients remove wasted spend and grow at the lowest possible CPA.
Why are we looking?
We are building a brand new software product - Corvidae. Powered by machine learning and capable of handling massive amounts of marketing behaviour data, the Corvidae product allows its users to understand the value of their marketing activity and use this information to automatically optimise that activity.
As our Head of Engineering you will mentor and lead a team of 8 multi discipline engineers to deliver products on time, growing and perfecting engineering processes. You will be passionate about gaining a deeper understanding of how Corvidae works, and how our engineers can deliver value. You will enjoy working alongside other engineers, product team and business stakeholders to build new functionality and enhance our existing stack.

What will you do?
- Lead a growing multi disciplined engineering team, provide day-to-day support and champion team growth and development.
- Own sprint throughput and report on metrics to the board, mentor the work across Engineering squads
- Support in planning and delivery on sprint goals and aligning with roadmap priorities using Agile practices
- Strategise on early concept delivery items and proactively progress them through all phases of planning and delivery.
- Work closely with product team to ensure delivery is to expected quality standards and timescales.
- Feed into future vision from an engineering perspective
- Manage and reduce costs of cloud platform(s).
What experience will you bring?
- A proven ability at hiring, coaching, and mentoring multiple disciplines (Data Scientists, Data Engineers, DevOps, Quality and Software Engineers) in an software engineering department.
- Ability to support team productivity, career growth and team engagement.
- Proven experience as a key leader in planning and delivery following Agile (Scrum amp; Kanban) practices.
- Experience with object-oriented programming ideally C# programming within an agile (scrum amp; Kanban) environment.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build and deployment processes, testing and operations.
- Experience of creating a collaborative and empowering software culture
