We are looking for a Concept Artist to help us make our sandbox adventure game, where players design and build their own creations through crafting, combat, and discovery!
Payload Studios are makers of the award-winning TerraTech and we're working on a very ambitious unannounced new title for Steam amp; current-gen consoles!
This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week spent working at our office in Farringdon, central London, and the option to work up to 3 days from home.
What You'll Be Doing
We’re looking for a Concept / 2D artist to work with the art team. We’re looking for someone who can collaborate with the 3D Artists and the Art director to come up with ideas and inspiration for a broad range of assets from sci-fi hardware to alien environments, exotic creatures, and characters.
Requirements
- Professional experience as a Concept Artist in video games
- The ability to generate ideas for stylised sci-fi hardware and stylised extraterrestrial environments.
- Ability to work within an established style.
- Ability to create ideas within technical parameters and understand game development practices well.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Contribution to at least one game released on Console or PC.
- Excellent communication skills, able to confidently give and receive feedback.
- A general ability with standard development software, source control, task management, and bug tracking.
