Job Description

We are urgently looking for someone with experience in analysing CPRD and HES data to join our team temporarily (minimum 1 month, with the exact duration to be confirmed at a later date) to support an ongoing Burden of Disease study. The outcomes of interest are not complex (e.g. incidence and prevalence of comorbidities, costs and resource use associated with comorbidities, overall healthcare utilisation, etc.) but due to unforeseen delays in receiving the data, we have extremely tight timelines to turn around the first set of analyses. Therefore, the ideal candidate should be confident in programming independently based on information in the protocol and data analysis plan. You will work as part of a team of programmers; each analysis will be programmed by two individuals independently for quality control.

Our internship opportunities are ideal for current PhD students, recent graduates, post-doc researchers or academics in the sciences who are seeking to gain an insight into life at a fast-growing healthcare consultancy. This opportunity will provide you with direct and hands-on experience with an exciting and fast-moving project with our Real-World Evidence division.

The salary for this role is 35,000 to 45,000 per annum (pro-rata) depending on previous experience.

Requirements

Essential requirements for the role:

  • Fluency in either Stata or R (both would be preferred)
  • Experience in using linked CPRD and HES data to analyse burden of disease
  • Experience in using the Grouper software for costing
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a large project team on a fast-moving project
  • Able to provide references from one or more supervisors experienced in the areas listed above to confirm capabilities
  • Availability of 2-5 days per week throughout March, with at least 50% of working days to be spent on-site in our Cambridge or London office

Desirable requirements for the role:

  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL
  • Experience in costing other than using Grouper, i.e. identifying and applying unit costs
  • Experience in training others in the areas listed in the list of essential requirements
  • Availability in April and beyond

Benefits

Application amp; Recruitment Process

You are required to submit your CV, which should clearly state the dates of all qualifications and grades achieved where applicable. Please ensure you have clearly displayed how your experience matches the above requirements. You will also be asked to provide academic references.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 26th February with interviews taking place shortly after and the role due to commence in early March. We strongly recommend applying as early as possible so that we can begin processing your application.

Please contact the Talent Acquisition team at if you have any questions about the role or application process.

Visa Sponsorship

Please note that this role does not meet the eligibility criteria for visa sponsorship and you will therefore need the right to work in the UK independently from the company.
