  • To define the analytical approaches for AVD work packages
  • To become the CAeS Compliance Verification Engineer for flight
  • To provide technical leadership for the Air Vehicle Design (AVD) team within Cranfield Aerospace Solutions Ltd (CAeS), comprising:
    • Air Vehicle Concepts and Design
    • Flight Physics
    • Aircraft Loads
  • To provide technical leadership, supervision, checking and approval for:
    • Air vehicle concept studies, conceptual design and concept selection
    • Aerodynamics, performance, stability and control analysis and reports
    • Aircraft loads analyses and reports
  • To define the analytical approaches for AVD work packages
  • To become the CAeS Compliance Verification Engineer for flight

Any other duties as needed or required by the business. Such other relevant duties may be assigned by the Manager in agreement with you. Such agreement should not be unreasonably withheld.

Requirements

    • Substantial experience (10+ years) of relevant roles in a UK CAA, EASA or FAA Part 21J Design Organization or a UK MAA Design Approved Organization Scheme company and/or an aerospace research and development organization
    • Held delegated authority for authoring, checking, approving and releasing engineering reports and drawings, within own area of expertise
    • A good degree (preferably a higher degree) in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace Vehicle Design, Aerodynamics or equivalent, or in an allied discipline (eg Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics) supplemented by evidence of structured aeronautical training and development
    • Chartered Engineer status (or be sufficiently qualified, trained and experienced to become so
    • Ideally would also have some of the following: o Engineering familiarity with a broad range of aircraft types, from light aircraft to airliners o A higher qualification in aircraft design, such as the Cranfield MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design o Some knowledge of electric aircraft propulsion and hydrogen fuel cell systems Experience of working
