We’re a team of around 25 engineers of mixed disciplines and experience distributed across the UK and US. We work in small, project-based squads where you get to contribute to the entire stack which means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to master your current skills, explore new technologies and coach/mentor others in the team.
Requirements
You’ll be responsible for evolving and extending our automated smoke and regression test suite to implement a higher degree of quality and release confidence across our entire product so that we can get changes into the hands of our users quickly, safely and sustainably.
You will:
- Ensure that our product output achieves our quality and testing goals.
- Contribute to the migration from our current, primarily manual, testing to a more automated, shift-left testing strategy.
- Develop and extend test automation frameworks so that it's easy for engineers to develop new tests and extend overall coverage.
- Help to foster a culture where quality is fully embedded into our end-to-end development workflows by coaching and mentoring teams and individuals.

You have:
- Good communication skills, are approachable, articulate and are able to work collaboratively and respectfully with other people.
- The ability to learn quickly, be a team player, responsible, punctual, stress-resistant, and client-oriented.
- A solid understanding of different types and levels of testing and when best to use them.
- Familiarity with QA design patterns and anti-patterns.
- Experience programming in JavaScript/TypeScript including React and Node.js.
- Experience working with common JavaScript testing frameworks, including specifically Jest and Playwright.
- Demonstrable knowledge of creating and managing test automation frameworks using TypeScript/JavaScript, and embedding those into CI/CD pipelines.
- A proven track record of using scripted test automation to improve quality, consistency, and coverage within a software development environment.

- TypeScript and React for our frontend.
- TypeScript and Node.js for our backend.
- Jest and Playwright for unit and end to end testing.
- Git for managing change.
- Postgres for data storage.
- Docker to package our services into containers.
- AWS for deployment, specifically EKS, RDS, S3 and Lambda.
- Terraform to define our Infrastructure as Code.
