We’re growing our Integrated Management Systems team with a new role for an Internal Auditor. You’ll work closely with Helen, our Group Integrated Management Systems Manager in delivering the team's objectives and vision. Internally at Marshalls, this role is known as Systems Auditor.
This is a home-based position with regular travel to various manufacturing sites across Northern UK, supporting opportunities for improvement, offering guidance and solutions, raising any concerns, and reviewing site systems documentation. Due to the location of the sites, there will be a combination of day trips and occasional overnight stays.
So what’s your mission?
You will work closely with our site management teams to organise and complete internal audit programmes across our Northern sites, ensuring results are effectively communicated to sites, departments, and our leadership teams.
You’ll manage both internal and external audit schedules and provide monthly reports with a summary of activities, considering causes and actions. We’ll look to you for feedback and recommendations for our Quality and Materials team and liaise regularly with our Safety, Health, and Environment team. We have an effective internal audit system in place, and as part of your role, we would like you to continue to identify best practices, highlighting any deficiencies in policy or protocol, and offering opportunities for improvement!
What will you need to bring with you on this mission?
- Experience in auditing and implementing standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- You must have high literacy skills and be able to set up and compile accurate reports that identify issues and compliance with standards.
- The ability to communicate effectively is a must! You’ll need to effectively convey standards and Marshalls’ systems to internal and external stakeholders by written and verbal methods.
- Clear concise reporting skills, offering an unbiased opinion based on findings and presenting facts.
- Skill in the use of qualitative and quantitative data to support audit approach.
- We’re looking for experience in organising audit schedules and preparatory work for the targeted sites.
- With a thorough and investigative nature, you’ll have to gather facts about the effectiveness of the IMS system.
It would be a bonus if you have . . .
- Experience with SharePoint or appropriate digital platforms.
- Knowledge of sustainability approaches, especially within the construction and materials sector.
- A professional qualification such as CQI membership, NEBOSH, IEMA.
