Role: Software Engineer
Reporting into: Engineering Manager
Location: Remote - UK Based - Occasional travel to Offsites in London/Manchester

Now, we are rapidly expanding into supporting the NHS adult population and corporate sector - providing corporate solutions to help build mentally healthy businesses, and expanding internationally.
The role- We are looking for a versatile, full stack Software Engineer to join our growing team to help us build the future of personalised digital mental health care.
- We want to scale and improve our platform to reach more users, enable more effective support, and help evolve our data-driven approach to personalisation.
- You will be instrumental in building new features and improving the platform, as part of a cross functional team committed to rapid development.
- What you’ll be doing
- Designing and building RESTful Node microservices and React microfrontends, heading up and owning specific features.
- Making their product more data-driven and personalized while maintaining the importance of the privacy and anonymity of their users.
- Working as part of a cross-functional team alongside Product Managers, Designers and Data Engineers to create the best solutions to business needs/problems.
- Collaborating with fellow engineers through pair/mob programming to maximise outcomes and write quality code.
- Evaluating and integrating third party solutions where appropriate.
- Regularly releasing great software and seeing it used by real people when they are having a tough time.
- Facilitating or steering continuous improvement in our codebases and/or ways of working through a Community of Practice

Requirements
- Indepth knowledge of Javascript/Typescript/NodeJS
- A focus on well maintained and well tested code
- Able to incorporate cross-functional requirements such as performance, resilience, observability and security into their code
- Database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Google Datastore, Big Query
- An understanding of microservice architecture
- Ability to think about high level systems designs and architecture
- A strong problem-solving attitude and willingness to contribute to technical decisions
- Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends and best practices
- Happy to work alongside other engineers as part of the on-call response rota. Engineers at Kooth are on call approximately one week every three months and we provide full training before anyone goes on call.
Nice to have
- Experience with trunk-based and test-driven development, with experience across the entire testing pyramid
- You’ve worked in a cloud native environment like GCP or AWS, using Terraform and Kubernetes
- Frontend frameworks such as React or React Native
- Other technologies they use include Clojure, Python, Kafka, and XMPP.
- Experience mentoring other engineers
