Job Description

The role can be based from either our Newport or Bath office. We are presently working from home due to Covid 19 regulations but there will be an expectation to be in the office in the future.

The People Business Partner is responsible for working with the leadership teams in creating and implementing sustainable plans concerning building capability, talent management, colleague engagement, organisational design and change management. This is critical role to protect our culture and ensuring that we have the right people in the right roles doing the right things.

The role is also responsible for delivering an appropriate employee relations framework with relevant policies and procedures that that supports the delivery of a consistent, fair and compliant means of managing employees and providing data to stakeholders in order to influence and support their specific people strategy and to guide and coach to managers to empower them to deal with lower tier case management.

What is expected of me?

  • To proactively drive plans to improve performance and build capability, talent and succession plans and implement effective enabling processes
  • To be actively involved in ensuring the people implications and opportunities are identified and executed with the business plans
  • Drive and enable the delivery of key people projects within the teams by defining specific implementation plans and to maximise the benefits and minimise disruption.
  • Continually challenge the status quo and culture to ensure the voice of the colleague and audience is at the forefront of decisions
  • To act as a role model and manage collaboration across teams, working in partnership to fully understand the key drivers and to facilitate creative ideas and organisational solutions.
  • Inspire the teams and colleagues to deliver the business plans and provide coaching and deliver communications and training that builds confidence
  • Act as a sounding board and coach/mentor to senior managers/colleagues and develop effective networks and relationships across services/within People team and external bodies
  • Ensure managers are trained and coached in all aspects of their approach to people management, compliance and development practices, working with other Business Partners and wider colleagues to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach


Requirements

The role requires the following expertise:

  • Business Partnering - support diverse customers to interpret business needs and define innovative, cost effective solutions at scale
  • Employee Relations - provide advice, support and coaching in line with the ER operating model.
  • Strategic planning - design and deliver utilising data management against the people plan strategy
  • Stakeholder Management network effectively cross functionally and manage senior stakeholders
  • Vision and Innovation Look for all opportunities to develop and improve across functions that have a touch point and that will drive enhanced business partnership by delivering new and initiative solutions
  • People and Customer Orientation Be people and customer centric focused and be passionate about people and service development
